Haddad Maia B. – Muchova K.: 0:2 in sets
Our pick: Haddad Maia B. - Muchova K.: 0:2 sets 04.09.2024 18:00 The surprising triumph…
Our tip: Slovenia – Romania: more than 6.5 goals
30.04.2024 12:30
In Bolzano, Italy, the prelude to the Czech Republic’s ice hockey holiday in May, the World Ice Hockey Championship Division I.A, from which two teams will make it into the elite for the 2025 World Championship, continues.
The Slovenians unexpectedly lost to South Korea in their opening game of the tournament, making their path back to the Top Division incredibly difficult. At this point, they are confident that they cannot afford to lose any more games, otherwise it would be incredibly difficult to make up the loss. Against the Koreans it was also confirmed that Slovenia does not have enough quality young hockey players to replace the departing veterans and that the gradual renewal of the roster is not bringing a revival, but rather a decline.
Still, against Romania, the Slovenians will be superfavorites. Romania is a hot candidate for relegation to the I.B Division, having suffered a 1:6 debacle at home to Italy in their opening game, a clear aspirant for promotion to a higher division alongside Slovenia and Hungary.
What to bet on:
The last time Slovenia and Romania met in a tough match at the lower division championship, the Slovenians won 9-1. The quality of the squad cannot be compared, Romania will be underdogs in all the games they play in Bolzano. For the Slovenes, this is an opportunity to get a shot in. Lots of goals will be scored.
Confidence:
7/10
