The new season of the football league will open at Letná with a duel between the reigning champion and Pardubice. Both teams have different ambitions, Sparta is aiming for the title, Pardubice for salvation, which should be reflected in the match.

Sparta didn’t lose even once in the Epet Arena last season, and this record shouldn’t change on Friday. Although the Prague club has struggled defensively, having burned out against Brondby (2:5) and Salzburg (2:2), they should outperform East Bohemia in productivity. The team’s lineup could be very mixed, most of the national team didn’t play in a single preparatory match, the tandem Haraslin, Preciado joined the team only this week. In any case, the team will miss Krejci, who left for Girona. Green at left stopper is a weak patch who will not be faking, which will show in games against strong teams, possibly in Europe.

Pardubice have weakened after the summer departure of coach Kovac and mainstays Icha and Hlavaty (all Liberec). From the new edition only captains can communicate with the referee, otherwise the referee should “draw” a yellow card. We will see how the rule will be applied in the first game.

Spartans had problems with discipline last year and got more than one card for communicating with the referee. Especially Kuchta, Wiesner, Haraslín, Laci and others have to be careful, because they have communicated with the referee in the past. Pardubice, on the other hand, will be reprimanded for trying to prevent a quick transition to the opponent’s offensive, or in one-on-one situations.

Sparta is the clear favourite and should win the game, but the line-up is quite unreadable and the preparation was not ideal, so it is quite difficult to read the other accompanying parameters of the match, an interesting bet may be a tip on yellow cards due to the new rule that will be introduced.
