The double match between the Croatian and Azerbaijani teams is on paper evenly matched. Both teams have a lot of experience from European cups, both are in form.

Dinamo Zagreb enters the Champions League qualifiers only in the playoffs, having won the opening three games in the national league by a total score of 10:1. The team is better than last year after a summer strengthening, when it dropped from Champions League qualification to the Conference League, where it lost twice to Plzeň. Dinamo strengthened mainly the defence (Oliveras, Torrente, Mmaeem), where they had a weakness last season.

Karabakh has already had two preliminary rounds in which they scored an impressive 15 goals. Seven went into the net of Gibraltar’s Lincoln, eight to Bulgaria’s Razgrad, with four in an away rematch in which they had to erase a 1-2 home deficit. Meanwhile, the team is playing with virtually the same line-up that almost eliminated Leverkusen in the spring Europa League semi-finals. The Brazilian striker Juninho, who scored six goals in the preliminary rounds, was the scorer.

What to bet on:

Both teams are shooting at the beginning of the season, but they have come up against weaker opponents. The mutual match will be more cautious, tactically tied, with a rematch likely to decide progress. Either way, a draw at half-time or at the end could be a good option.
