The opening round of LaLiga offered six draws, leaving only four three-point teams at the top of the table. One of them is Celta, who took Alavés (2-1) in the league prologue thanks to a second-half turnaround (66th and 84th minutes). The winning goal was scored by Galician icon Iago Aspas, who is entering his tenth season in Vigo. As fate would have it, Celta can start the new season with two home games in a row, so coach Claudio Giráldez’s charges can try to confirm their three-point win from the first leg in front of their own fans.

Valencia, on the other hand, will be up against Valencia, who would like to erase the zero on their points account. In the first round, they lost to the runners-up Barcelona (1:2), although they went into the lead against the favourites. Coach Baraja is doing good service at Mestalla – in his first (incomplete) season he led the “bats” to salvation and in the last edition he has already registered the ninth place with them. Valencia would like to be in the top half of the table and ideally somewhere among the cup contenders this season.

What to bet on:

In the last edition, both matches ended in a draw. Wouldn’t be a big surprise now either. The home side are certainly buoyed by their success in the first round, but Valencia didn’t look bad against Barcelona and will do everything they can in Vigo not to be down to zero after two rounds. A draw is also a double chance.
