Hradec Králové hockey players have fully taken over the reins of the quarterfinal series. They entered the series with two defeats on their home ice, but then won twice on the rink of Mladá Boleslav and carried their form into the fifth round in front of their own crowd.

Mountfield outshot their opponents 35-27 and were one step ahead from the first period. Boleslav managed to equalize twice and kept the score even in the 50th minute, but their own indiscipline put the opponent on the horse. In the 51st minute, Jergl took advantage of a power play and just before the end, Mudrák sealed it with a goal into an empty net.

What Mlada Boleslav had been doing well in almost all the games this season until the third game of the quarterfinal series, i.e. defending well and not scoring too many goals, suddenly didn’t work. Hradec is showing that he has found a recipe for an otherwise excellent catcher Furch and thanks to that he has won three games in a row. On Wednesday, they will be able to play Mladá Boleslav for the semifinals. And since the home team is not one of the most productive teams in the competition, it will be difficult for them to outshoot their opponents, given their currently weaker defensive performance.

Hradec has found a recipe for goalie Furch and it will be very difficult for Mladá Boleslav to stop him. The next semifinalist will be decided on Wednesday, with Mountfield winning either in regulation or overtime.
