In the “Czech” group, two teams that practice the same game system and have recently trained the Czech national team in it will clash.

Saturday’s 1:4 debacle in Tbilisi will haunt Czech footballers for a long time, while Georgia won in a way that the Czechs knew their opponent practiced but could not eliminate.

After gaining the ball, the Georgians immediately switch to quick counter-attacks, and thanks to their learned interplay they are able to get within range on a minimum of passes. Moreover, they have excellent individuals (Mikautadze, Kvaratskhelia) who can finish lightning actions accurately.

The same tactics are used by the Albanians, who won only a point against Croatia (2:2) in the group of death at the Euros, but they have also beaten Italy (1:2) and Spain (0:1). The Czechs know that the “red and black” can strike from distance, and last year in Tirana they beat Šilhavy’s team 3:0.

Albania also entered this year’s Nations League well, beating Ukraine 2-1 in Prague on Saturday and showing that they can also play to the full when they had to turn around an unfavourable scoreline in the second half.

What to bet on:

It will be interesting to see which team takes the initiative, which is not inherent in Albania or Georgia. Either way, both can make the most of the minimum and so each should score at least one goal. Out of the five matches between the two sides, this has happened four times.
