Britain’s Katie Boulter won a major WTA tournament in San Diego at the beginning of March, celebrating not only her second career title on the top circuit, but more importantly her breakthrough into the top 30 of the world rankings. Two weeks ago, she had a weak moment at the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells, where she finished in the second round, but in Miami she was back in the swing of things. Thanks to her all-court tennis, she has already passed Brenda Fruhvirt and especially Beatriz Haddad Maio in the eighth round.

Boulter will now challenge thirty-four-year-old Victoria Azarenka, who also finished in the second round in Indian Wells and is looking to make amends in Miami.

In the third round, Azarenka took on China’s Qin Wen Cheng, who is ranked seventh in the WTA rankings. However, Cheng hasn’t been playing great tennis since reaching the Australian Open final, making Azarenka’s position easier. Boulter, on the other hand, is in good form, despite her setback at IW.

What to bet on:

Although Azarenka is a slight favorite in the match, Boulter is playing the best tennis of her career this season. She is especially decorated by her ability to find effective tactics with coach Luke Milligan on different opponents, as she is not a player of one dedicated style. That will be true for Azarenka and Boulter will look to reach the quarter-finals in Miami.
