After six long years, Barcelona has reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, facing Inter Milan, who in their last triumph in the competition in 2010 knocked out their Wednesday opponents in the semi-finals.

But Barcelona, who lead the Spanish league by four points ahead of Real, whom they beat 3-2 in extra time in the domestic cup final on Saturday, go into the game in a better frame of mind and can continue to dream of winning the treble. The problem is an injury to Thurram, Martinez’s usual attacking partner, who has missed the last three games. His start is in doubt.
