If this is Rafael Nadal’s last season, it will be a huge loss for men’s tennis. This is confirmed by the Spanish superstar at the ongoing tournament in Bastad, where Nadal’s health is holding firm, making for some fantastic matches. The quarter-final three-set battle with Mariano Navon stretched to four hours, the semi-final duel with Duj Ajdukovic to 134 minutes, and Nadal managed both battles.

Although there were doubts as to whether Nadal was fit enough, he managed to completely blow those doubts off the table. And on Sunday, he will attack for his first title since Roland Garros in 2022. He will face the 51st ranked player in the world, Nuno Borges of Portugal, whom he will be facing for the first time.

Borges hasn’t had nearly as tough a road to the final as his upcoming opponent. He lost only one set in the eighth round to compatriot Henrique Rocha, but otherwise played against weaker players on paper and won his last two duels smoothly 2-0 in sets.

What to bet on:

Nadal is the paper favourite for the match and judging from his performance, rightly so. It won’t be an easy match for the aging Nadal, and it will probably drag on quite a bit. But in the end he will successfully attack to win the trophy. A win for Nadal can be recommended with an over.
