Bournemouth moved up to fifth place with a 3-0 win at Manchester United, their fourth win in five games. It was only the third time in their history that Cr. Palace (3-7-7) scored five goals in a home league game after losing 1-5 to Arsenal in the last round.

Bournemouth have lost only one of their last six home appearances (4-1-1), but in the previous three here they have scored only one goal each time, and in two of them they have scored first. Generally, these are very evenly matched games, as indicated by the fact that Bournemouth have conceded at least once in six of their eight home games this season, but have only conceded at least three goals three times.

Crystal Palace didn’t defend consistently last time out and the strong opposition had no trouble punishing that. The Eagles thus lost their streak of five league games without a loss (2-3-0) and remain at the bottom of the table. Away from home, however, they have not lost four in a row in the league (2-2-0), celebrating their last two wins at Brighton (3-1) and Ipswich (1-0). Now they will need to show that the double-header (2-3 in the cup) with Arsenal didn’t leave a significant mark on them.
