Werder Bremen will try to end the wait for a spring win against Mainz. The North German team needs to stop their slide down the table, while the Falklands team is defending their position in the places guaranteeing European Cups.

Although Bremen erased a two-goal deficit last time out in Dortmund and took home a valuable point for a 2-2 draw, they are still waiting for a win after the winter break (0-2-2) and only by virtue of a better scoreline do they close out the top half of the table. Werder are not doing so well at home, where they have won only 10 out of 27 points this season.

Mainz beat Stuttgart (2-0) a week ago and with their seventh win in the previous ten rounds (7-0-3) they moved up to sixth place, which means they are now in the Conference League preliminary round. Die Nullfünfer have recorded all three of those defeats away from home, but have not been defeated on their opponents’ pitches (4-2-3).

What to bet on:

The away team has lost only two (!) of their last ten appearances at the Weserstadion (5-3-2) and given Bremen’s home form, they won’t leave empty-handed again. Mainz will not record a fourth consecutive away defeat.
