Saturday’s programme of the hockey championship in Prague will open with a match between Denmark and Switzerland. The joust will have a big paper favourite in the latter team, which could have a solid shot.

Switzerland is still undefeated at the championships. They have beaten Norway 5:2, Austria 6:5, Czech Republic 2:1 after a shootout and most recently Great Britain 3:0. They are just one point behind the leaders Canada in the Group A table, who will face a tough duel with Finland on Saturday.

Denmark has played one more game. They entered the tournament with a 5-1 win over the erratic Austria. It then lost by the same scoreline to Canada, 0:2 to Norway and 4:7 to the Czech Republic. Last time out, the Danes were surprisingly hopeful of a win against the British on Friday. They beat them narrowly 4:3 after a turnaround. They are in fifth position in the table, but most teams have one game left to play.

The Swiss will go into the game after two days off, while the Danes will have a tough one on their hands with Great Britain. The match starts shortly after noon, so there will be even less time to rest than usual. The favourite has in its midst the most productive player of the whole championship Roman Josi (2+6) or four-goal scorer Nico Hischier (4+2). Kevin Fiala will also want to pull out.

What to bet on:

With the prospect of a possible move to first place in the table, Patrick Fischer’s undefeated charges will go for another triumph from the opening minutes and beat their tired opponents, who have taken twelve chunks from the Czechs and Canadians combined, by at least two goals.
