The second round of the National Cup, which included most of the first league teams, brought many surprises. Several of the underdogs’ clashes with the clear favourite were decided only by extra time or penalty kicks, and a couple of league teams have also said goodbye to the Copa del Rey at this early stage. One of them is Espanyol, who fell 0-2 to UD Barbastro (IV. Liga) on Tuesday. Barcelona, whose starting line-up also includes Alex King, confirmed that they are not in a great form, as they have lost seven of their last nine league games (2-0-7).

Getafe are slightly better on both counts. Madrid also struggled in the cup, but eventually beat Orihuela (IV. Liga) after a goalless draw, at least on penalties, with a strong contribution from Jiri Letáček, who converted all three of the home team’s attempts in the shootout. In LaLiga, the Czech goalkeeper hasn’t had a chance yet. Getafe have won only one of their last seven games (1-3-3), against last-place Valladolid (2-0). In the table, the home team is just above the relegation zone (17th place) with the same points as Espanyol, who have played one match less.

What to bet on:

In the clash of two struggling teams, the home team is the favourite, as it is in slightly better form than Espanyol, and the visitors have not won away from home this season (0-1-6, 4:17). Getafe, on the other hand, have only lost once at home (2-5-1). Number one.
