In Thursday’s pre-game of the forty-seventh round of the Hockey Extraliga, ninth-placed Pilsen takes on last-place Kladno. The difference between the two teams is currently seven points. In the mutual duels of the current season, the Indians have won one more point.

Kladno has dropped back to the barrier position, but has the same number of points as Vítkovice and Olomouc. After a 5:3 win in Liberec, the Knights fell 1:2 at home to Trinec on Sunday. Against a very well defending opponent, the Central Czechs had a hard time getting scoring chances. They got into a big pressure only at the very end of the game after a reduction two minutes before the end. Kladno once again confirmed that they are not doing well on their home ice. They are in last place in the table of home games and out of the last five home games they have won only against the struggling Litvínov and scored only eight goals in total.

After four straight losses, Pilsen finally got some results and beat Mountfield 3:2 after overtime in Sunday’s home game. The Indians won two valuable points in a balanced and not very attractive duel. Unlike the previous matches, when their performance withstood stricter standards, this time a worse game performance finally brought the victory. Nick Malik, the key man of the line-up, returned to the goal, who was absent in the previous four lost matches. Pilsen has been quite strong on the road this season. Out of the last five away games, the West Bohemians have come out empty only on the ice of sovereign Sparta.

What to bet on:

While Kladno continues to struggle at home, Plzeň is doing quite well on their opponents’ rinks. We’ll take a shot at the visitors’ win in regulation time at tempting odds.
