Wednesday’s game of the ninth round of the Hockey Extraliga will feature a duel between Brno and České Budějovice. Both teams are at the very top of the table. The last Motor is two points behind Kometa, but has one less game played. In last year’s duels, both teams scored two wins.

The home team Brno played its last game on Friday in Karlovy Vary. After a wild game, it took only a point for a 4:5 loss after overtime. This was mainly due to the trio of Ďaloga, Marcinko and Pospíšil, who scored eight points in the game. Once again, however, Brno’s performance lacked more movement and commitment. Much more was expected from the preseason reinforcements. Zohorna, Říčka, Konečný and Beaudin are still without a single goal scored, and especially their performance is not good at all.

The visitors from České Budějovice had an even longer break than Kometa. They played their last game on October 1st on the ice of the then undefeated Litvínov. Although the South Bohemians may have been the better team and did not put in a bad performance, it was not enough and the 5:1 loss was the fourth in a row. The duel was decided by a passage at the end of the second period when Verva jumped out to a two-goal lead. The engine struggled especially in attack, scoring only 13 goals in seven games. Not a single Czech player has surpassed the five-point mark yet, with Lukáš Pech, Adam Kubík and Filip Přikryl not scoring.

What to bet on:

Offense is certainly not something both teams can boast about yet. On average, Kometa and Motor score less than two goals per game. So we’re going with the bet that not many goals will be scored.
