In Wednesday’s match of the forty-first round of the ice hockey extraliga, Hradec Králové, fourth in the table, will take on the seventh-placed Kometa, which is only three points behind its rival. Mountfield has been more successful in the three duels this season, scoring six points.

Brno has clearly benefited from the national break, as it has lost only one point from the last three matches. In Sunday’s round, the team from the Moravian capital succeeded in Pardubice 4:3. Although Kometa was not more active in the game, and especially in the third period faced huge pressure, it was more productive. Overall, Mountfield’s performance has not been good lately. Of the last five rounds Hradec won only on the ice of the last Kladno. In these five duels they scored only eight goals, which is the lowest in the whole competition. Mountfield needs to step up its game in order to qualify for the quarter-finals.
