In their last appearance of 2024, Como boosted their hopes of salvation by beating Lecce 2-0 at home. In the first game of 2025, however, it will travel to the stadium of Lazio, who lost their last game in the city derby (0-2) and continued their decline, winning only one of their last four matches.

In their first seven league games in front of their own fans, Lazio won six times and drew only once (AC Milan 2-2). However, they failed in the last two, first suffering a debacle at the hands of Inter (0-6) and most recently drawing with Atalanta (1-1), but that was not a bad result in the final. However, the arrival of the struggling Como should promise a similar course for the home side, rather like the matches against Cagliari, Genoa, Empoli or Verona, when Marco Baroni’s charges had no problems.

Como have not won six times in a row (0-2-4) on their opponents’ soil and lost 1-5 to Lazio in their first meeting this season. The fact that they have not scored a goal in three of their last five away games (Inter 2-0, Empoli 1-0, Torino 1-0), while they themselves have scored at least once in all ten of their away first league games so far (1-3-6), may also be a problem for the visitors.

What to bet on:

Lazio have had problems at their stadium in recent weeks, but these were caused by a heavy draw. The Biancocelesti have managed well going into games here, having led at half-time on four occasions, but have also managed three occasions when the tie was still in force after the first 45 minutes and still won in the end. Como can’t match that kind of power.
