Lazio lost their run of four competitive wins after having to play without the suspended defender Romagnoli from the 24th minute in the last round at Juventus, only to concede an unlucky own goal at the very end (0:1). Genoa, on the other hand, broke a run of four competitive losses by defying the odds and saving a point against Bologna with two goals from Pinamonti (2:2). Coach Gilardino is staying with the team for the time being.

Lazio remain almost perfect on home soil. Its only loss here this season remains a draw with AC Milan (2:2), otherwise it has recorded four wins. In each of its five appearances in front of its own fans so far, it has scored at least two goals, but has also always conceded at least once itself.

Not to be out of trouble, Gilardino has to deal with a large squad. There is a huge crisis in Genoa in this respect.
