Tuesday’s fixture is the 19th round preview between Mallorca and Barcelona. In the regular season of this round, both teams will be fighting for the Spanish Super Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, so they will play their match now.

Barcelona will enter it with an unusually miserable league record from their last three fixtures. They have won just one point in those matches. After a 0:1 loss in San Sebastian, they also dropped two points in Vigo (2:2), and their biggest surprise yet came on Saturday when they lost 1:2 to Las Palmas at their temporary home in Montjuïc. The Catalan side’s lead at the top of the league has now shrunk to a single point, with second-placed Real Madrid having one more game to play. Flick’s team urgently needs to get back on the winning track.

But Mallorca will not be an easy opponent in the current situation. The islanders have won their last two league games (3:2 Las Palmas, 2:1 Valencia) and are in an excellent (and unexpected) sixth place in the league table. This is despite scoring only 15 goals in 15 games (Barcelona 43). But Mallorca’s defensive performance is good (13) and they will now want to build on that against the league’s most productive team.

What to bet on:

The home side defend well – only Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad have scored fewer goals than them. Moreover, Barcelona are not in top form at the moment. The last time (this March) they beat Mallorca only 1-0. This time it might not be a shootout either. So the “goals under” could help the ticket.
