Karolína Muchová had a very good dress rehearsal for Paris in Palermo, Italy. The Czech tennis player reached the final of the tournament, where she fell in three sets to Chinese favourite Qin Wen Cheng, but otherwise presented a very good performance. She also showed that her form is growing after her return from injury.

Her opponent in the first round will be Canadian Leylah Fernandez. She’s not exactly the kind of player to seek out clay tournaments. You could say she plays where she has to and where she doesn’t have to, she just doesn’t play. She can’t completely avoid clay, but this year and last year she’s picked up more losses than wins on that surface. And that puts her at a big disadvantage before her match with Much.

What to bet on:

Muchova is an excellent clay court player, she confirmed that last year at Roland Garros. This is the venue for the upcoming tournament and Muchová would like to reminisce about last year’s run. She probably won’t get that far (the final), but she will advance over Fernandez.
