Napoli only drew 1-1 at Bologna last time out, but their deficit to Inter remains at three points. However, only the second half of the table awaits them until the end of the competition and the chance for the title is still alive. Empoli confirmed their goallessness in the last round when they only drew 0-0 at home with Cagliari and were still two points behind for salvation before the start of this weekend.

Napoli are back on a winning streak at home and have beaten strong opponents on their last two occasions, beating both Fiorentina and AC Milan 2-1. If they want to keep their title hopes alive, they must not falter against struggling Empoli. On paper, the Partenopei should have no trouble: they have won all six league games here against teams from 13th place or worse.

Empoli brought back a point from their last away game for a 1-1 draw at Como, but they also extended their wait for a league win on their opponents’ soil to eight games (0-3-5).
