Nottingham may not have won three in a row, but their last draw at Chelsea (1-1) confirmed a very solid start to the new season (2-4-1). Crystal Palace can only dream of something like this, as they spent the league break in the relegation zone (0-3-4), having last failed to beat Liverpool (0-1).

Nottingham’s weakness last season was a defensive unit that often conceded cheap goals (especially from standard situations). Looking at the Premier League table after the opening seven rounds, we can see that something has fundamentally changed. In fact, only Liverpool (2) have got fewer goals and Forest are second best in this respect along with Arsenal (6). The arrival of Nikola Milenkovic has then also solved the problem in terms of the height of the defenders and Nottingham are suddenly the terror of all attacks – which was also shown at Chelsea.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are experiencing a big deterioration, at least compared to the spring of last season when coach Glasner came on to the bench. Adding to his problems now is the injury to Daniel Munoz, who has been languishing on the right side of defence since his January arrival. Palace claimed a clear foul on a penalty for the second game in a row and Glasner can hope that fortune will finally smile on him now, although he has only managed a point so far (0-1-2) away from home.

What to bet on:

Both teams are experiencing a very different start to the season, however, in Nottingham’s case it seems to be starting to slow down a little. A single win in the last five games, three of which have ended in draws are clear evidence of that. Three times the points have been shared in the last five Cr. Palace.
