In Wednesday’s match of the twenty-ninth round of the Hockey Extraliga, Pardubice, second in the table, will play against České Budějovice, eighth. Dynamo have won one point more than Motor from three matches in the current season.

Pardubice have won only one point from the last four matches and are already twelve points behind the leading Sparta. After losing 3:5 at home to their Prague rival, the East Czechs fell 3:4 at home to Komaka on Sunday. Dynamo had 17 more shots on goal than their opponent, but overall, and according to their coach, they did not perform well at all. The end of the second period was the key moment of the game, when Brno scored three times in six minutes. Pardubice has to fight mainly with themselves to be mentally well prepared for the playoffs, which they will probably enter from the second place.

Czech Budejovice, on the other hand, have had a good run in the last two rounds, beating a struggling Litvínov 5-1 at home on Sunday after a 5-3 win in Mladá Boleslav. For the second time in a row, Motor delivered an excellent performance and was the better team in virtually all aspects of the game. After a not so good period, when the South Bohemians waited ten games for a three-point victory, they looked very good in the last two games and thus definitely extinguished a possible barrage scarecrow.
