The last Czech Cup representative, Viktoria Plzen, will open the Conference League quarter-finals at home to Italy’s Fiorentina on Thursday.

The West Czechs are the underdog in the upcoming match, which is also true towards progression. In the best case scenario, even Plzen could score, as Fiorentina have been collecting clean sheets quite rarely since mid-January.

Czech football needs to get a point in the double-duel with Fiorentina, but it will be difficult against an extremely high quality opponent. The visitors are scoring a lot of goals in the cup, the team is pushing as hard as possible to the end. The Italian team will control the game, which is the basic prerequisite for an important victory.
