The 2025 Chamber of Deputies elections could be very exposed and heated again after four years and the Together with the Mayors (and Pirates) government, which should have an impact on voter turnout.

ANO voters will try to deliver change and will turn out to the polls in huge numbers, as predicted by pre-election polls and their interim results, which agree on a clear victory. Supporters of Babiš’s party will settle for any promise that puts more money in their own wallets after the period of “Violet’s dragnet”, which is a quite logical and understandable argument. The rhetoric of the ANO movement will thus lead again through pensions or other discounts (for travel, etc.).

On the other side will be a group of “anti-babies”, i.e. all voters who don’t care who wins, except for parties that are extremist or populist in their view. At the same time, the voters of ODS, Lidovci, the Mayors, TOP09 or the Pirates must also take into account the financial impact, especially on the business sector, which is of particular interest to ODS and STAN voters.

As in 2021, voter turnout could be as high as it was in 2021; four years ago, 65.43% of eligible voters in the Czech Republic showed up at the polls. This was a record result in the context of modern parliamentary elections; in the previous years, 2017, 2013, 2010, it was significantly lower, ranging between 59.48% and 62.5%.

However, the standard of living of the citizens of the Czech Republic has been declining in recent years due to external factors (covid, energy crisis, interest rates, floods, price increases), the dissatisfaction should be reflected in the overall interest in the elections.

What to bet on:

Interest in elections has been growing in the Czech Republic in recent years, not only in parliamentary elections but also in regional, presidential and senatorial elections. The threshold of 65.43% from four years ago will be in danger, the announced level of 63.73% should be surpassed.
