Salernitana’s unambiguous loss to Inter (0:4) may not have surprised anyone, but it kept the southern Italian side firmly in last place, from which they are seven points behind the first safe position. Monza did the complete opposite against the other Milanese side, celebrating a 4-2 home win over AC.

At home, Salernitana will be looking to build on the result of their return match here almost to the day exactly a year ago, which ended with a 3-0 win that started their path to subsequent salvation. But those days are long gone, and judging by the performance in Milan, even new coach Liverani has failed to awaken the fighting spirit in his team.
