Sassuolo’s fifth loss in their last six league games (0-1-5), which also came at home to Empoli (2-3), cost coach Alessio Dionisi his job at the weekend. Napoli also have a new coach, but Francesco Calzona couldn’t get a win at the second attempt as the Partenopei only drew 1-1 at Cagliari.

For the Neroverdi, this meant that the teams in 19th to 17th place, which includes them, have identical 20 points. Sassuolo would badly need to score in the playoffs, but their full involvement in the fight for salvation is already quite evident.
