Vít Kopřiva played directly in the main event of the ATP tournament in Munich last week, but in the first round he got a very difficult draw in the form of British Jack Draper. He had a rather interesting contest with a strong favourite, in which he presented very nice tennis. He lost 1:6, 7:5, 4:6, but he definitely confirmed that clay is his favourite surface and he can beat much better opponents on it.

Of course, he would like to use this at the Masters tournament in Madrid, but he has to qualify first. In the first round he will face Abedallah Shelbayh of Jordan, who is only 20 years old and a member of the world’s top 100. Kopriva has already played him once and lost, but that was last year on hard court, Shelbayh’s strong surface. As for clay, he is not so keen on it, but since he wants to play among the best, which is his goal, he will not avoid it.

What to bet on:

Nettle is a clay court player, which will show in Madrid on Monday. He’ll avenge his defeat to Shelbayh from last year’s challenger in Bahrain (hard surface) and advance to the final round of qualifying.
