Our tip: Slovácko – Pardubice: the winner of the match Slovácko
07.12.2024 13:30
Teams that changed coaches during the autumn will meet in Uherské Hradiště on Saturday after lunch.
Ondřej Smetana, the new coach of Slovácko, got his fourth win on Wednesday at Julisce, where the visitors turned the half-time score from 0:1 to 2:1 thanks to goals by the substitute pair Krmenčík-Havlík. Their arrival, along with a change of formation, was the impetus for the turnaround. Smetana relies on a 3-4-3 formation, but it doesn’t work in Slovácko, so at the urging of his assistant Baránek, he returned to the 4-3-3 formation that the players are used to. He won’t experiment against Pardubice, he will leave that for the winter preparation.
In any case, under Smetana the team has undergone a remarkable transformation. He has started scoring goals, but he is also conceding a lot more. The numbers clearly show it. In the four matches under Smetana, both teams scored, Slovácko scored seven goals, while in the whole of the previous autumn they managed only nine. And it hasn’t added any more to its seven clean sheets.
On the positive side, the strikers have woken up, Kvasina and Krmencik scored two goals each, so Smetana can rotate with them on the pitch as needed, he played every half at Julisca, so they should have enough strength on Saturday. But the problem is the absence of the number one goalkeeper Heča, Fryšták is not a good goalkeeper, but he did a solid job against Dukla and he has experience.
Pardubice have a 1-3-1 record since David Střihavka joined, but they still remain in the barrage position with a relatively big loss for direct rescue. Even though the Easterners drew with Olomouc 2-2 at home on Wednesday, the result doesn’t match. They barely had a chance on one goal and their poor productivity continues to weigh them down.
In three of the four previous matches they had not scored a goal, the disappointing result was mainly the home defeat to the desperate Czech Budejovice, who got 45 goals in the autumn. Since their only win in Budějovice in the autumn, they have been away for seven games, losing five.
What to bet on:
Slovácko has a better team and better individuals, with the right formation and tactics it should be able to cope with Pardubice. Moreover, there is not much danger from the guests in the offensive. Krmenčík, who is able to get chances and convert them, could make his mark.
Confidence:
7/10
