The newcomer from Southampton is not yet experiencing an ideal start to the new Premier League season, in which they have lost all three of their games so far. They are far from satisfied in Manchester as well, as United lost 0:3 to Liverpool last time out and have only three points after three rounds so far.

Southampton finally scored last time after two close 0-1 losses, but unfortunately it didn’t bring them any points as they lost 1-3 at Brentford. Bad starts among the elite are nothing new for Saints, as they can now become the first team to lose the opening four games of the new season for the third time in their history (1998/99 and 2012/13). Considering the name of their next opponent, it’s not exactly unlikely.

It’s hard to imagine a worse way to end the first run of league duties before the national break – the 0-3 home loss to Liverpool hit United fans hard. After the game, the traditional speculations about the future of coach ten Hague started, but the Red Devils management assured that he still has full confidence. Then there was the disappointing performance of newcomer Zirkzee, who downright fell flat in his battle with defensive midfielder Arne Slota.

What to bet on:

The two teams are not too different from each other statistically so far: Southampton have scored one goal in the league, United have scored twice. There is no difference in terms of shots on target (11:12), but United have three points because they pushed Fulham in the first round by force of will. And experience could be the difference at St. Mary’s as well, as the home side have not yet fully got to grips with the Premier League.
