Sparta’s misery continues after the national break, the draw against Teplice (1:1) was a sad spectacle for all Spartan fans, the performance was again pathetic.
The team lacked practically everything, speed, courage to play 1v1, to push into the penalty area and even fitness (Rynes, Kairinen) at the end. Moreover, Sparta defended defensive standards schoolboyishly, from which they again cashed in like against Mlada Boleslav. The only bright moment was the goal of the returning Haraslín, but unfortunately it confirmed that last year the team was practically on four players (Kuchta, Birmančevič, Haraslín and Krejčí).
To make matters worse, Sparta reported more losses, with stoppers Cobbaut and Sörensen missing the game against the Northerners, while Zelený, Preciado, Imanol and Birmančević are also out. Sparta’s defence is in trouble, Vitík, Panák and Ross are available, but neither of them is in great shape, and the Danish stopper is not up to the task. Panak’s contribution is also low, he fails in duels, his “renowned” crossing is practically non-existent, and the relegated Kairinen is nonstop occupied. The league’s most valuable player, Martin Vitik, hasn’t played a game without a blunder since the Olomouc game.
So the home team has nothing to offer on Tuesday, the team is down and lacking confidence, there are rumours of coach Friis’ dismissal. The return of Laci and Wiesner, who did not play this weekend, will not help either, they also belong to the category of average players.
Atlético have only 6 points after four games in the Champions League, and they desperately need a win if they want to advance further. So the Spanish club will definitely not underestimate anything and will go to Sparta with a strong line-up. Coach Simeone’s squad has come into solid form, having dominated their last five competitive matches, and the coach also spared the scorers Álvarez and Sorloth over the weekend. But there are many more global stars in the team, players like Griezmann, Oblak, Witsel and Gallagher are known to fans all over the world.
In the summer alone, the team spent over 100 million euros on reinforcements, showing a collision of two worlds that should be evident on the pitch. The visitors are better off, especially technically, which translates into the quality of finishing. Moreover, if Sparta make mistakes like against Brest, the team is even in danger of a serious charge.
What to bet on:
There is no doubt that Atlético will win, it is safe to think about a handicap, i.e. a two-goal win. Sparta are vulnerable in their current situation and will be without the ball for most of the game. For the visitors, the burly Sorloth will score.

7/10
