Torino managed a 2-0 home win over Lecce in the last round, keeping their 12th clean sheet (in 24 games) this season. Another European Cup aspirant is Lazio, who enter this playoff only a point ahead of their opponents after losing 1-2 at home to Bologna last time out.

Torino’s defensive work this year has been really great – they have kept a clean sheet in half of all their games. The last time it had more zeros to its credit at this stage of the competition was in 1991/92, when it finished third. It might not be as great this year, but the fight for Europe can continue. Especially if the goalscorer Zapata, who has scored in three of the last four games, continues to do well.

Lazio will have two away league appearances (Torino, Fiorentina) before travelling to Munich for the LM semi-final rematch, in which they will be looking to build on their previous performances in similar duels, winning three out of four times away in Serie A. Looking at its overall record (5-1-6), it is clear that this is a significant improvement. However, the latest loss to Bologna suggested that Maurizio Sarri’s team can still surprise its fans in a big way.

What to bet on:

Torino have lost only one of their last 11 games (5-5-1) and their form is much better than Lazio, who have struggled with inconsistent performances. It will be a great opportunity for coach Juric’s charges to confirm their cup ambitions.
