This year’s Tour de France has a penultimate stage ahead of it, which will be a proper mountain climax. Although it is relatively short, only 132.8 kilometres long, it includes four demanding climbs and over 4,700 metres of ascent. In addition, the peloton will face a 15.8-kilometre finish climb at the end with an average elevation gain of 7.3%. And that’s something Tadej Pogačar loves.

As Sunday’s final stage will be a mountain time trial in which anything can happen, Pogačar will surely be looking to grab one more win and increase his already relatively comfortable lead at the front of the Tour. He has already shown at the Giro that he is dominant in the mountains this year, and he is confirming his form at the Tour. His teammates are also helping him tremendously and will play a huge role in the penultimate stage.

Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar is outdoing himself this year and putting in the best performance of his career. The 25-year-old is having the best season of his career, according to his points, and will be looking to confirm that in the next mountain stage of the Tour.
