Friday’s programme of the thirty-fifth round of the Hockey Extraliga will start with a duel between eleventh-placed Třinec and ninth-placed Plzeň. The latter has a three-point lead over its opponent and one game in hand.

After a 1:2 loss at home to Kladno, the Ocelar players fell 6:7 at home to the last-place Liberec after a shootout. In a crazy game for both sides, Třinec again did not look very good. The Silesians deserve credit only for the fact that they managed to come back into the game after the second period when the score was 3:5. However, the Steelers could have easily got three points when they missed a penalty shot and two more chances at 6:5. After solid performances and results at the turn of the year, it seemed that Třinec would only go up the table, but the last two unsuccessful home games brought them back down to earth.

Pilsen continues their good run of results, winning their last four games in a row. Last time out, the Indians beat Kladno 3:2 after overtime. However, the Westerners didn’t put in a good performance at all in the game and scored two valuable points thanks to an excellent Nick Malik and two power plays. Pilsen is still the worst team in the competition in terms of power play. The positive thing is that Skoda managed to score despite the poor performance. In the previous few games it was exactly the opposite, when the Indians couldn’t express their good performance in goals.

While Plzeň is doing extremely well away from home, winning their last six games in a row, Trinec hasn’t looked too good in their last two home games. In an interesting odds bet, we choose the away team to win the decision.
