A very interesting duel awaits Udinese coach Fabio Cannavaro, who is a native and offspring of Naples, in one of his first matches on the bench of a first league team. However, his charges start this round in the relegation zone with a two-point loss after a fierce fight last time at the ground of fourth-placed Bologna (1-1). Napoli also drew at home to AS Roma (2-2), but they go into this round from ninth place and their participation in next year’s cups remains very uncertain.

Udinese are not doing well at home this season at all and have won only one game here so far. Moreover, it has lost the last three times here, including the game against AS Roma, the last 20 minutes of which were played last Thursday (1:2). The problem is mainly the defence, as Udinese have always managed to score at least once in 12 of their last 14 games here.
